Leader Training

The courses involve both theoretical and practical sessions. In all cases the participant will need to show evidence of competence in managing groups of children. This can be done either by being a qualified teacher or youth worker, or having a qualification that is assessed in group management such as a mountain leader' s award. Or after taking the course completing 20 hours of assessed activity, supervised by someone who has one of these qualifications (they do not have to be qualified cyclists) or a named person in your area who is acceptable to BSCA.

All courses are continuously assessed in terms of demonstrating ability to handle groups, especially in the setting of goals and limitations appropriate to the age, aptitude and ability of young people.
