Training
of and registration of leaders and coaches
With
ever increasing safety guidelines, and as a result of growing pressures
for safety, especially for children in the outdoors, the British Schools
Cycling Association has responded by developing leaders courses to cover
cycling with groups of children.
Handbook
Our
2008 handbook detailing a selection of events, services, leaders, rules
and history is available from our General Secretary, Mrs. Susan Knight,
21 Bedhampton Road, North End, Portsmouth PO2 7JX. A cheque for
£5.00 (payable to BSCA) will ensure a copy with you as soon as possible.
You
may join BSCA as an individual member for £8.00 and cheques should be
sent to our Treasurer, Mr. D Shrubbs, 18 St Blaise Road, Four Oaks,
Sutton Coldfield, West Midlands B75 5NH
The
membership application form should be printed
from this website for this purpose.
Schools
and Clubs may also affiliate to BSCA and this will confer membership
onto its pupils/ members at a cost of £20.00. Local Education
Authorities can also do this for a cost of £50. Each member (or
school/club/LEA) will also receive a copy of the annual handbook (which
normally costs £5.00) as part of their membership.
Coaching
of young people
This
is usually provided on a local basis dependent on local needs but initial
enquiries should be made to the Regional Development Officers to identify
suitable events and coaches.
BSCA
have an established child protection policy, designed and supported
by specialists in this field.
